At ContextX, privacy isn't just a policy—it's the foundation of our architecture. We use zero-knowledge encryption, which means your personal data is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches our servers. We literally cannot read your data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address (for authentication and communication)
  • Name (optional, for personalization)
  • Authentication credentials managed by Clerk

Your Connected Data

When you connect data sources, your data is:

  • Encrypted client-side using your personal encryption key
  • Stored in encrypted form on Cloudflare R2
  • Only decryptable by you or AI agents you explicitly authorize

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the ContextX service
  • To authenticate you and secure your account
  • To communicate service updates and security notices
  • To process payments (handled by Stripe)
  • To improve our service through aggregated, anonymized analytics

Data Marketplace Participation

If you choose to participate in the ContextX Data Marketplace:

  • Your data is anonymized using k-anonymity techniques
  • Individual identification is mathematically impossible
  • You control which data categories are included
  • You can withdraw participation at any time
  • You receive 60% of revenue generated from your anonymized data

Data Retention

We retain your encrypted data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can export your data at any time through your dashboard.

We use the following third-party services:

  • Clerk - Authentication
  • Stripe - Payment processing
  • Cloudflare R2 - Encrypted data storage
  • PostHog - Privacy-focused analytics
  • Railway - Infrastructure hosting

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Export your data in standard formats
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of marketplace participation
  • Revoke AI agent access at any time

Security

We employ industry-leading security measures including AES-256-GCM encryption, TLS 1.3 for data in transit, and regular security audits. Our zero-knowledge architecture ensures that even in the unlikely event of a breach, your personal data remains encrypted and unreadable.
